Resource Centre, Chelmsford

This resource centre was commissioned to bring together all the local services provided by the client onto a single site, within the Conservation Area, in a modern, energy efficient and sustainable building to achieve BREEAM’ Very Good’ certification. The brief brought together a unique mix of office, training suite and medical loan facilities, whilst also being adjacent to the former centre, within a Listed Victorian villa, for which a conversion scheme was prepared to return it to its original residential purpose. The building design of the new resource centre followed the mass and vernacular of the surrounding buildings but with a contemporary twist.
