Oakley Vale, Corby

This flexible community building was designed with large and stimulating spaces that could be subdivided with demountable acoustic partitions. The building’s kite shaped footprint and angular roofs were developed to maximise the sound reduction between spaces, and further reduced by the coloured elliptical ceiling acoustic rafts in the communal area. The concept design echoes the heritage of Corby’s steel industry with a series of sculptural corten steel feature columns marking the entrance to the building.
