Café, Barnwell Country Park

Kingfisher Lodge was an existing general purpose timber framed building adjacent to the lake at Barnwell County park.

The brief was to convert this into a café with outdoor seating area.

The scheme was developed to maximise the outside space which took the form of an external timber patio area over sailing the existing lake.

Metal screw piles were drilled into the edge of the lake to support a maintenance free decking area with timber post and stainless steel wire balustrades.

Internally, the building was renovated to form a welcome light and airy space for visitors and kitchen equipment installed for the new café use.
